I've got 3 1/2" different between bottom of steering arm and the wishbone when set to this :s

Ok what length should it be between bottom and top trunnion s? Also referiny to no load what does that mean? When is body is supported on stands?

The Minor front suspension should be set as per the BMC diagram above; every other way is just guess work.
The NO load measurement means that it is the difference in height between the inner and outer end of the the lower suspension arm with No load on the torsion bar and disconnected from the steering swivel/bottom trunnion. The lower suspension arms sits in its neutral position i.e. NO loading upwards - NO loading downwards.
The distance between the top and bottom trunnions is irrelevant. So long as the top trunnion is fully screwed on but backed off enough to allow the steering upright/swivel to turn without locking up and the bottom trunnion screwed on enough to allow the bottom trunnion pin to be inserted through the bottom trunnion and slide past the waisted part of the steering upright/swivel with out locking up when the steering upright/swivel is turned.

The distance between trunnions doesn't vary...unless you haven't screwed them on the king pin correctly. Just go with the distance between tyre and wing - or (better really) the distance between the top of the king pin and the tip of the rubber bump stop. Just make them equal - AFTER you have let the suspension settle down with a few miles use.
