Fit the springs to the top shoe and fit the shoe in position.
Fit the short spring in position on the bottom shoe and then lever the end of the shoe into position.
Fit the long spring on to the other end of the shoe and lever the shoe onto the top (bottom, it is upside down) of the piston.
Lever the shoe down and slide the adjuster into position.
After the sixth attempt, swear profusely (see earlier thread).
Console yourself with the fact that it is easier than on a M1000 as the end of the half shaft does not get in the way.
Meanwhile namass 1 is still trying to get the brake drum off

Thanks for all your help but the problem isn't just that it is stuck on the splines.The wheel cannot be turned and it seems the shoes have jammed open. Maybe a shoe has come out of the groove or the piston has jammed open.Either way, it looks like the only way it will shift is with a puller.Does anyone know where I can get one in the Derby area, please?

Have you tried towing the car? This may free the wheel.

I explained how to make one from angle iron....... Did you disconnect the handbrake cable as advised - and 'tap' the lever sticking out the backplate? Even with the wheel on -it can't be turned? And if you run the engine in gear with just that one wheel off the ground? Does it turn then??

DO NOT run the engine with one wheel off the ground. If the wheel does not turn it will transfer the drive to the wheel on the ground and you will have a big accident

Just gently! To see if it moves......
