@ Qwerty.... I doubt 'Soapy' as we know him would be able to eliminate the MOT - but it is just about the ONLY thing that would encourage me to vote for his crazy scheme!

It is nice to know that there is some common sense north of the border.

littlepiggy wrote:it is not an argument it is fact!! you only had to message me and no ebay did not give an explanation to why it was removed this forum is a joke you people should be looking after each other and not stabbing each other in the back like i said you only had to message me but no the top and bottom of it is you all like to bitch and moan and "report to ebay" laughing about it instead of doing the right thing and pointing out where a person went wrong.
you are not nice people and have double standards
LittlePiggy - by reporting the sale of V5s / vehicle ID to ebay we are protecting ourselves and other minor owners. Minors go missing with monotinous regularity and with the items you were selling on ebay its a 10 minute job to give a stolen car a "legitimate" ID to sell it on. I cannot see how we are stabbing each other in the back?

I haven't got a V5C available to me at this moment, but I am sure there is text clearly visible on it stating that it is an official document and must not be sold/tampered with etc. So, in my opinion, it is a fair assumption to assume someone selling such a document (especially with the chassis plates etc.) would know its illegal and could be used for ringing a vehicle (especially if ebay cancelled the sale and it was relisted!).
I have had an ebay listing cancelled before (because I was selling a NOS ford part, in its ford box, and used the word genuine in the listing  ) and I appreciate the reasons for listing cancellations are not always made clear.

I can't see any double standards?? We regularly get posts pointing out the ID of minors on this forum, and there are always people who report it to ebay. I report any V5 etc. I see. I have tried messaging people selling IDs on ebay in the past and I have always been ignored or had abuse back - so now I don't bother and just report the item.

I am keeping an eye on this thread - so please be careful to abide by the T&Cs of the board  A couple of posts have been very close to the wind

I wasn't trying to fan flames... but selling logbooks is an absolute pet hate (and I wasn't online to see it last night).

When a car is scrapped - DVLA require the V5c to be returned to them. I expect they will then demand a 'certificate' to say that the car has been correctly scrapped at an officially authorised scrapyard where all the dangerous fluids etc will have been safely handled - and not just allowed to soak into the ground - or go up in smoke and CO2. Do you have the necessary documentation 'piggy' ?
