Only really noticed the running on after I swapped the carb. Would my timing go out because of this? Also thanks very much for your support it's been really helpful. Still twinkiring with things at the moment but at least I'm getting there.

You need to optimise the timing for the new running conditions. But it may just be running v rich - check the plug colour...
