Hi All,

Yesterday I took the replacement manifold off and put the original (Qualcast) one back on (rubbed it down and painted it with VHT paint). Put everything back together... one pull on the starter and she started first time.

Therefore, the only thing I can think of is that the different shape of the manifold resting on the thermostat housing, causing the engine to suck to much air which meant that the engine wouldnt start.

Ive still got a water leak on the front of the head though which is a bit gutting. The other thing I noticed is that the oil pressure is higher than it was before changing the head gasket (anyone know why this would happen)? I have changed the oil and filter (same make and type filter as before). It used run on 60 cold and would go down to 20 when hot. However now, cold its 60 but only went down to about 45 when hot???

Hope someone can advise.

Your oil pressure seems a bit low to me, mine is 70 psi running and 60 psi on hot tickover. Still yours is in the acceptable range so I would not be concerned

Hi Mike, its good to know that its in the normal range. I was more interested to learn why it was so low previously 20 when hot and at tick over and why its gone up? I cant think of anything I have done in order to increase it? :-?

Fresh oil can make a difference as well as tickover speed.
Check the head nut torque and keep checking until they do not need adjusting
