Bum... ahh well, that killed my theory.

STILL have yet to figure out this inconsistancy!

Now, the chassis change points quoted in parts books and production
records apply to ALL models, however, as Cowley produced Minor carried
a separate producton number (the body number), THIS recorded change
points made on the Cowley production line.

Therefore, it is plausable that Cowley's production of the "facelift" model
began BEFORE the chassis change points quoted in books.

So, does anyone out there own a pre 10/54 "facelift" Minor?

Anyone thought of the obvious. That the car has been cloned with an earlier logbook to enable a reg number transfer ?? Or it was reshelled sometime after Oct 54.
I did buy an early cheesegrater grilled Traveller once which someone had fitted a later dash to.

Again, body numbers were fitted to distinguish the differences
between those Minor's built at Cowley and CKD kits.

Typical example is the seatbelt anchorage point being fitted to
Cowley built Minor's before CKD models.

Therefore, there MAY be other differences. This is why body
numbers are listed in service parts books.

This MAY apply to the "Facelift" change. If there IS (B) number
quoted alongside any feature, it did.
