Battery starting amps I think. Basically how much the battery can supply at once. I'd say it's not relevant, Minor starters do not take much current, I know with my 300 (admittedly under 4 months old) it will start, and if not, last as long as it takes me to ascertain why it isn't starting :D

i thought they were listed as 35 amph or 45 amph, what does 300 or 460 refer to?

starting amps i think, mine was ok before the cold weather come but when the oil was to thick mine would struggle to start. got a 1275 but starting with everything i could turned off. would only just start with the 300 (amp?) battery.

amph is amp hours I believe, similar thing really.
As I have no experience in 1275 motors I'll take your word on this one Wickermonkey ;)
