The rev 'counter' will be electronic......but don't worry - the timing is best set on the road, not by worrying about static settings. And don't worry about 'flushing' the new oil will be fine. What IS important though - were the spring and plate present under the new oil filter cartridge, to hold it tight against the top plate??

Filter assembly was set up as book shows with the exception of it having an O ring instead of the felt washer and no circlip, it fitted up flush and had to be screwed to the sealing ring in the housing with the threads using the spring pressure. Then lightly nipped up, no leaks.

That sounds fine - many are lost, and then there is NO filtration - and engine failure follows soon after........
