The threads are stripped now!
If you leave the trunnion pin in the trunnion when you wind it off, it strips the threads.
I found this out when the lower trunnion pin seized on my moggie, cost me new trunnion, pin and king pin :roll:

I agree - that pin MUST be taken out first! It must have been extremely tight to unscrew??? New king pin and trunnions complete required now.

We had one guy use a 5ft scaffold bar over where the hub goes and another use a 'king dick' wrench on the trunnion. It was on a 2 post lift so easier.. It was all gone anyway, as the suspension had been basically wearing on the trunnion pin rather than the bushes..
Still not seized after being left in a vice 3 months later! :evil:
So yes - quite tough.

hope you have more support under the car than just sat on a sissor jack and some blocks :o

Sad thing is - the threads that are left behind look fine - it would have been ok....... Use the proper Workshop Manual - not Haynes.....
