If you leave the trunnion pin in the trunnion when you wind it off, it strips the threads.
I found this out when the lower trunnion pin seized on my moggie, cost me new trunnion, pin and king pin

We had one guy use a 5ft scaffold bar over where the hub goes and another use a 'king dick' wrench on the trunnion. It was on a 2 post lift so easier.. It was all gone anyway, as the suspension had been basically wearing on the trunnion pin rather than the bushes..bmcecosse wrote:I agree - that pin MUST be taken out first!
