Thank you all for the advice given on this topic, I am using penetration oil on the components at the mo and will prob attempt the job over the weekend if get chance (the joys of having a 2 year old son). Just pick brains once more, once the front of the arm has been removed does the stud in the eyebolt just unscrew to allow the t bar to be moved? Does the eyebolt remain tight against the chassis leg?

In theory the stud should be removable, I think it's the same part as goes through the bottom trunnion.
In practice, it's never touched unless it's been badly worn by the failure of the eye bolt bushes.
Given the problems you are having getting things apart, there is little chance of being able to unscrew it with the torsion bar in position and even less if you cut the torsion bar.
