Are you sure those are welds?? looks more like the patch has been held on with seam sealer or builders adhesive!

If that is welding it does not look strong and with such poor penetration you could probably lever the patch off with a screwdriver.
I think your car needs to come off the road for a while for a proper restoration. The quality of those patches and welding looks very poor.
Whatever you do, please don't fill your sills with expanding foam as one member of this forum advocates!

There is a seam weld, be it rather thin, around most of the edge, the filler is covering it up.
Oh it's well and truly off the road. I bought it a while ago for a good price and took it apart straight away. There have been a couple of minor, shall we say bodge repairs, but I kinda expected that. It was sat for at least a year before we bought it and as it's going to be our ONLY form of transport, I wanted to get it as safe and sound as I can.
