I have an LCB of unknown origin (EBAY). It doesn't fit very well either. It hangs a bit low in the middle. It doesn't cause any problem but looks a bit cr*p.
The 3into1 part of the LCB was making contact with 'exit hole' of the engine bay. I ended up taking drastic action and cut some of the outer edge off the exit hole to make it fit.
I also had a problem with the rear silencer box making contact between the petrol tank and the damper connecting rod and tapping against both. I had to make a 'V' shaped rubber mount to stop it from 'swinging' and extending the damper connecting rod (cut it and welded a longer bit in) to make more room. To this day I have no idea how this unit was meant to fit properly.
As your exhaust is new, then I would say you'd be doing the right thing by sorting it with 'M'birmingham and not fudging it.

My Exhaust is touching the cross member on tickover, I raised the tickover a little and this seems to have helped. I'm gonna try to tweak it slightly, mines home made. I have standard 1098 with an LCB, steel front silencer, steel cherry bomb & 1 3/4 " stainless pipe with 1 1/2" carb. It pulls away quicker, I've not tried it over 40 yet as I've only been to town and back

A couple of things I have noticed from your photographs
1. The silencer body is not horizontal and
2. The silencer body is quite a way back and nearly up against the cross member.
Can you rotate the silencer to get the silencer body horizontal? Sometimes this can move the silencer rear pipe away from the cross member. Rotating the silencer will also give you more ground clearance. Is the outlet pipe from the silencer offset from the middle of the silencer?
Can you move the silencer body forward (it looks as if it will go forward) on the manifold outlet pipe without effecting the rear joint or route of the tail pipe?
From the photographs posted the LCB manifold does not look to be at fault. I say that because the outlet pipe on my LCB appears to be in the same position as the LCB manifold fitted to your car. If you look at the first photograph the plane of the outlet pipe clearly follows the line of the bottom of the chassis so there is not much amiss there. The vertical plane you cannot see but I suspect that there is nothing amiss there either. So in conclusion I believe the alignment of the rest of the exhaust system is where the fault lies. Try the suggestions above and I am sure that it will all fall into place. If you have to carry out any modifications do it to the exhaust pipe and not the manifold. As you say manifolds are expensive but silencers and pipes are as cheap as chips.

Traf blue - an LCB is NOT ideal for a standard 1098...it can be counter productive until a longer period camshaft is used - which of course is never going to work on a 1098 since it's not safe to rev it above 6000......

Go for a side exit

I have a 1.5" LCB and HS4 going on my 1098. I trial fitted the manifold and it is the same as yours. There is too much curve on the last part of the manifold which kicks the exhaust up and not parallel to the bottom of the car. Mind you it only cost £45 ff Ebay and that was with the 1.5" Howley manifold so can't crumble too much.
I am having a 1.5" exhaust made up and that will have a slight bend to level it out. Made a lot easier as its a side exit

I'd thought of using a flexi joint to get over it but luckily found someone that can knock the custom exhaust up. Like others the last part of the LCB hits the inner bodywork and it will need a small splice tickled out. Sorry should be in the modified section, don't want to upset anyone.
Good luck

I have recently fitted a LCB and 1.5 SS exhaust and it was a complete nightmare. Finally established a fit that did not knock or hang too low by loosening all of the fittings and using wooden packing and or G-clamps to set the exhaust up where it needed to be. Then tightened the clamps and manifold up, checking all was well after each bit was tweeked up. Long old process and could not walk for several days but finally sorted and not had any problems since.
