I was following your woe on the otherside and I'm really sorry to hear that. Gutted for you but there'll always be another event.

I'll be there and just might have the Minor done in time - if not the old Merc.

I am coming over from Ireland ( not in a Minor though ) and I see there is a M6 toll road that by-passes Birmingham is this a good alternative to the old M6 eg less traffic conjestion etc

Not half, I've always found that one can maintain a steady (er um) 70 mph with no problem all the way round. Yes it costs, but then what price time and no stress (not to mention petrol in stop-start traffic)

Great thanks havn't been around that area for a long time since moving to ireland. Last time I was on the M6 15 or 16 years ago was going back to Ireland after a holiday, came up to standing traffic slowing down in middle lane in a Volvo 740 estate with 7 seats rear two facing rear-wards with two youngest in back, when looked in rear view mirror to see artic bearing down from behind didn't look like he was going to stop, saw a space in lane next to me slipped into it ,not sure if he would have hit me or not but gave me one hell of a fright, luckily rear facing kids were asleep so no nightmare's for them

Just a note for those of you planning on using a sat nav rather than a map to get there, the postcode for Kelmarsh Hall is NN6 9LY but sat nav users should enter NN6 9LX
