So - can someone set this up and then tell us what gap it equates to....... 12 thou = fag packet corner...........

Well I would assume that the correct setting of 60 equates to the correct gap of 12 thou. I didn't measure the gap when I reset it.

The points gap of 0.012" only applies to the early MM side valve engines, everything else is 0.015" and this should equate to the 60° dwell, or the other way round! Having 'Ignitor' electronic 'points' avoids having to worry about either dwell or points gap, it's all done within the module inside the distributor cap.

If 12 thou = fag packet corner what is 15 thou exhaust tappets and 25 thou spark plugs? :-?

go electroic i did 7 years ago fit and forget,ive never had a problem .

Spark plug = double fag packet,I know 'cause my spark plug tools in the 60's ,for my lambretta,consisted of a fag packet to gap and a match box to clean the tip.

A straight pin (used in dressmaking, etc) is .025"

As is a hacksaw blade....at least it used to be -probably a daft metric size these days......
