I see.... I did check all three of my BMC workshop manuals and the original handbook and they all say that the hot running pressure should not fall below 40 psi and that cold start pressure should be 60 psi with idling pressure at around 20-25 psi.
The engine will never be thrashed as I prefer to drive sedately as I have done with all my previous cars so as I have now apparently doubled the oil pressure I had before I will be quite satisfied until such time as the engine requires new big end and main bearings but thank you for your input - it is very much appreciated. :D

It will be fine! You could of course fit an oil cooler - that would boost it nicely!

An oil cooler?
Would this be a simple bolt on unit linked into the oil system like a finned box type thingy?
Also where would be the best place to buy one?

It's not inexpensive - goes on in place of the pipe from the block to the filter body - with the cooler itself sitting in the airflow. Like this - although you also need the pipes and fittings........ http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/13-Row-Serck- ... 460420f469
