Hi, I have just created an account to post on this thread. I am building a new 1098 engine for my girlfriends Morris and was wondering if you could tell me where you got that braided pipe from, or the thread sizes and dimensions so i can order my own. I am having trouble as the the spin on conversion and oil pipe are female sides and i don't have the joining piece in between.
All help is greatly appreciated

Yes, come on dellerie!! In your penultimate post you said the braided option (Minispares?) was too expensive, then the next we know you have fitted one! Did you find a better price somewher or just bite the bullet??
I have found that small hydraulic shops will usually make something like that while you wait, cash in hand(hrmmphh!). Go for a small unit where there is no counter and pipes all over the floor!!
As for your deep piles, you can get a cushioned ring to sit on which can ease that, it helped mine a lot! Very forthright of you to mention your medical ailments here

I have found a local hydraulics shop that i will pop down to tomorrow. If they are any help and can make up the pipes to a good standard i will get a few made up and stick them on ebay. Hopefully they can because i dont really fancy spending £50 on a hose

Hi,
Found them on eBay, see link below, for £39 plus £3.50 postage. I believe that the union sizes are 5/8 and 1/4 npt, though if someone else on here knows better I am open to correction (hopefully before I press the 'buy it now' button...............
)................................
I am at present enquiring as to whether he can supply these sizes...........
Best wishes,
Mike.

PS: This is a 2017 price, hence not as cheap as the one mentioned earlier, as that was 2012 prices. Hopefully the link might help someone else in need.

I have the same type filter head union as used in the link above fitted to filter head Pt No: TAM 2097 which is according to my 1/4" BSP x 19 TPI Parallel tap (which screws in easily without cutting new thread) and 19 TPI thread gauge is 1/4" BSP.
The sealing between union and filter head is by use of a Dowty washer.

This pipe has 5/8 to block and 1/4 to filter housing.
Quoted by the guy before I bought the pipe in answer to my question. Once received the pipe fitted a treat, so the sizes must be correct.
Best wishes,
Mike.
