Slightly off-topic here, but what is the definition of a screw vs. a bolt? My assumption was always that a screw had a head that required internal driving (with a screwdriver!) or a hex-socket (Allen head) type.

Screw is threaded all the length of the shank, a bolt is only threaded part way - with a plain section at the head end - intended to be a snug fit in the parts it is securing.

Gasket arrived today bent in half by the post to put it through the letter box, opening the porch door would have been too easy.

ESM are being kind enough to send it again.

No it didn't

but the gasket did come In a padded envelope and was on a piece of cardboard which would have taken quite a bit of bending in half. The post lady we had for years was excellent, since she finished in October you won’t believe how often we all play the game of run down the street and put the post through the door with the same number as on the envelope .

Did the sump at weekend, all looked dry until I revved the engine today and a tiny spot of oil appeared at the bottom of the U cut out at the rear of the sump. Checked the torque on the sump bolts and they had relaxed from the first time I had tightened them a few days ago. Retightened them and no sign of oil at present, so fingers crossed.

What torque should I use for tightening sump bolts? When I checked mine they were not very tight.

Screws - not bolts..........

And just sensible hand pull with a short ring key.
