11mm square should work fine. Only 0.1mm (or 4thou) difference!

Why are you having so much trouble getting these two items? They're not special tools so any good toolshop will have them, then you can get cracking!

Are you still looking for something 7/16 square? If so, PM me. Last month I bought a 300mm steel bar this shape (I think for £6), and decided to cut 100m mm off the end to fit into the fill and drain plugs in the diff. It works well. Then I cut the remainder into two other 100mm sections to sell/pass to other Minor owners.
Of all my AF, Whitworth and metric spanners, I found the best hexagonal fit around the square bar is 9/16 AF.
