Is it price or if a non standard engine is fitted a larger pumping capacity is needed when accelerating or pulling away?
Dont think its price as the guy concerned got it from a well known local motor factor Bennetts and I have also seen them in the other parts places, its probably down to mark/up and so called availability, but our 3 times bad luck owner actually paid less at our branch rally for the genuine item than the copy/pattern one.

The old guy I got ours off didn't have a clue about the specialists like Bull Motif so that may explain it...
Probably is just that. Fuel pump packs up - off to local motor factor, which I suppose is what most of us would do if the genuine article and Minor parts specialists were not known about.

Sadly true in lots of instances. (paying more for the copy/pattern part)
