I'd have to agree with bmcecosse. I've tried a Weber 28/36DCD on my 1275cc Midget engine and it was hopeless - no amount of fiddling with it would get it to run right. I also tried a Weber 45DCOE on an MGB GT and promptly blew a hole in No 4. piston!

I have the standard equipment Weber 34ADF15/250 on my saloon's 2-litre Fiat twin cam and it's a bit temperamental, with occasional difficult starting and misfiring/flat spots - service kit is on its way.

I went back to a single 1 3/4" HIF on the Midget engine and it runs very sweetly.

Weber 45 DCOE may be good on a RACE engine, but not ideal for a road car........unless Daddy owns a petrol station.

I bought a universal choke cable from Halfords a while back. Pull and twist lock, same as on some later B/L cars. (I'm sure some other motor factors may stock it as well). It was plenty long enough and cheap. Exactly the same cut-out in the dash for it to fit in my 1960 minor.
You can solder a bike cable to your old one, as has been mentioned, that works too, if you want the dash to look 'period'.

As I said in an earlier post, Speedy Cables will fit a new choke cable to your requirements
Alternatively you have a spare hole for another go faster accessory switch

Make sure that choke is clean on the weber, they can stick. Just get old cable and run a length of new from old screw or match against old cable, get some cord used to suspend indoor lighting, grease it, solder to choke lever and fit!
