I bought my moggy off ebay, and have had 2 years of enjoyable trouble free motoring. But then I bought local in fact 5 miles down the road and the good thing with ebay is it has a great selection of all models in all price ranges so it is always worth a look.

That said, I'd not go a great deal higher than where it is at the moment without seeing it.... (£256)
Went for £1900!!! :o Holy Moly! :-?

I had a lengthy discussion with the seller about this car and decided it was worth driving for two hours to look at it. The second I saw it I knew I'd wasted my time. I looked at the ebay listing after it had finished and was surprised to see it went for as much as £900. When I looked more closely and saw it was £1900 I thought I must have picked up the wrong reading glasses. Staggering!

I've bought both of my minors from Ebay. I paid £450 for my '69 4 door, mechanically sound but with poor bodywork and £800 for my stripped '56 Splitscreen 2 Door. Most people wanted the Splitscreen for the numberplate. I on the other hand wanted to hot rod it :D

The 4 door had rust which would have been impossible to have gauged before purchase but also had many good points. It's cost so (too) much to restore/rebuild as I've had the bodywork done by a professional garage. I've learnt lessons during the rebuilding of both cars, and it's doubtful I would take on a car such as the 4 door again as she's nowhere near finished, but she has done over 8000 miles in the past 18 months :D

Cheers

John

i think ebay is ok if you view the car and know what you are buying .
