Cheers Lippychick, will do - when I've got it all together I'll put up some pics and report as to my sucess (or not as the case may be!)

I have our car on the rotisserie supported only by the bumper posts. Removed the wheels, trunk lid, hood, doors, seats, battery, engine, transmission, rear axle w/springs, etc. Pretty well everything that will come off except the front suspension, the headliner and the hand brake lever.
Car has been rotated this way and that many, many times as I cut and fit and weld, and cut and fit and weld, and haven't had a problem w/the support of the car, even when I crawl into or onto it (175 lbs). Mind you I only do a bit at a time, I don't take a huge portion of the underbelly out at once. Same w/the crossmember, did one side at a time. Also, I'm working by myself as I'm out in the boonies and don't have anybody handy that I call call on for assistance.
BTW, I say hood, I think you call it bonnet, I say trunk, I think you call it boot.

You should be at Stampede - not messing about with a Minor.........

Cheers Katy - that is very encouraging to hear that yours is supported only by the bumper mounts. I will be taking off pretty much everything else (except the doors and 'trunk' ) so my car's weight shouldn't be too far of that of yours.
Double checked all the mounts today and they seem solid as a rock, fingers crossed...

Note the comments on a similar thread running in the other forum George. The rear bumper mounts are not all strongly fixed to the shell. I've suggested a custom made frame bolted inside the boot to reinforce them may be a good idea - I certainly would do that!
