I came back this morning - car suffering from fuel evaporation due to high temperatures on M1 but made it back ok- superb rally - really enjoyed the weekend but lack of sleep for 2 nights is catching up with me now though.

Brilliant weekend!
Not long got home - made a few stops this time on the way home (met a really dodgy guy in the services

), unlike the mad rush to get to the rally. We were also stuck in traffic going through Monmouth

.
Thanks to everyone who organised everything and everyone from here who were present who made the weekend such a good laugh - embarrasing photos to follow

Some photos
The young owners were asked to display their cars on Brankch Avenue. We even made some signs (after a few beers I might add

)

We were even given a prize athe prize giving ceremony on Sunday afternoon purely because we were young

They tasted very nice on the BBQ (ooooooh yes... we really did

)
Have you ever laid awake at night wondering "how many forum members would it take to put an awning on a caravan?" - well here is the answer...

[frame]

[/frame]
It certainly didn't match the name of the caravan...

There were some very dodgy characters there (all flattering photos taken by yours truely

Lou was so pleased how this photo came out she wanted the world to see (I best hide when I se her next

)

And the best was saved til last... Cam really shouldn't have touched Gill's van after she had spent all day polishing it - I bet that hurt

Ah, so that was you - I heard that someone was asking after me! Sorry to have missed you Ian but I'm sure I'll see you at another rally some time

Did you see the prototype convertible with the tonneau cover? I've posted pics on your restoration thread.

Well you're not as young as you used to be Roger. You should be taking it easy, not partying to all hours
Journey home was fine. Got stopped by a man at Peterborough services who wanted to chat as he has a Minor but didn't go to the National so I was telling him all about it.
Meet some old faces and some new ones. Thanks to everyone for the great company

Here's a few pics:[frame]

There were some Red Kites flying over the grounds and one snatched a chicken leg from Neil's plate causing him to spill his tea
Here's a pic of Chris & Matt's barbecue attempt - sausages and jelly babies on mint skewers - which even the kites kept well clear of: [frame]

I've had a nap this afternoon to catch up

- I'm trying to work out if my sore head was from Saturday Nights party or Sunday evening when the awning pole fell on my head

I had a great time at the National - we staying in a B+B in Harrogate for two nights so had some time there as well as at the rally and exploring the grounds at Harewood house - what a great location and what fab weather!! Super when you have a young family (the penguins in particular were appreciated by pao7psb jnr).
Well worth the 400 odd mile round trip, although it seems Snowdrop gave her all getting me there and back - she did it without a hitch, only to have a flat battery when I tried to put her in the garage this evening
I think the engine isn't charging the battery as the battery was given a full charge on Friday before the rally
Big thanks to everyone who had a role in organising the rally

Was a really great rally this year. Makes a big difference to have all the stuff in one big field with no roads cutting things up. And proper showers too, bonus
