Just wondering as you haven't said what manifold and air filter you are using.

ahh, well primrose has a 3 branch exhaust on, with an inlet manifold which is one of those water heated ones (i dont have it connected it, as cabs ran for years without being heated) the manifold has one of theose square flanges, but in order to get a standard carb to fit i was going to remove the current studs, drill and thread the new holes for the oval flange on the standard su.
i have one of those k&n conical filters, which does look pretty bonny.
i do hope that makes some modicum of sense

It does - but i'm not sure a standard carb will cover the big 44mm hole in that inlet manifold! You may need to make an adapter plate. But - it should be possible to get that carb running ok on your engine!

the adaptor plate is the easy bit, as for getting the current carb running well, ill try a bit more fiddling in order to see what the result is.
