Fantastic end to the story!! I'm really glad to hear that the car was recovered
Well done to Louise for your time spent and dilligence with the Police. I know I would be gutted if one of my Minors was stolen. The owner must be over the moon!
Plus with all the doom and gloom in the world, economy etc... it is great to hear a happy story like this!!
Thinking about all the hours of hard work put into my restorations, I might consider fitting one of the Tracker security devices, maybe the owner could look into one of those?

the costs of one of the systems..
http://www.tracker.co.uk/TRACKER/Produc ... s/Car.aspx
are not as bad as i thought they might be ( I am not saying it is cheap ) if the "duration subscription" is for the duration that you own the car given the length of time i have owned my car it certainly could work out cheaply!

Even if that were true, you have to add in the "virtual cost" of all the hours/days of spare time, possibly over a number of years spent in restoring this car and see if it seems worth it then!
It does seem to be the immaculate, fully restored cherished cars that get stolen.

Same here, the picture below, carefully shows my Travellers best side! My car is smart and respectable enough not to disgrace itself on a rally, but has plenty of "Patina" and "character". I am always tidying up bits and pieces but am reluctant to make the car too nice for that reason.

Thank you, but I only did what most Minor owners would have done if they had spotted one that had been stolen. It's all down to the messageboard really as it was only because the owner posted here that we knew it had been stolen. Just demonstrates how useful this site is. Mind you, the Police were a bit dubious about how I knew it was stolen so I had to explain on 2 separate occasions that no, I wasn't the owner, no, I didn't know the owner, yes, it had definately been stolen, I knew because I'd seen the details on the MMOC website and could they please send someone to check it out! Got there in the end though and I'm just really pleased that it's been returned to it's rightful owner

Well glad to say this story has such a happy ending.
Was finally re-united with the Traveller this morning. Thankfully there wasn't much damage, just some internal wiring where they'd manage to hot wire the car.
Was quite emotional seeing her arrive on the low loader as did think at one point I'd never seen her again.
I've scoured the forum on security tips and am going to take every precaution to prevent this happening again.
Finally just wanted to say another massive thankyou to LouiseM for sterling job in spotting the car and reporting it to the police (not to forgeting the 2 hour wait for them to arrive!).
I understand the story is in Minor Matters - if someone could forward a copy (My Dad gets it but he's away for a while), I'd love to see it!
Many thanks MMOC!

What a lovely gesture, £100's worth of vouchers. I wonder what Louise bought her husband with the money?
