Wow.. I used to hop off the number 44 at woodcock Lane terminus was it?... and walk down Barn Lane to Lyndon School in the 80's
I'm looking forward to the rally... you'll probably all slowly pass me on the M1 on the way up Saturday morning... except for Mike of course!

I went to Chapel Fields infants and Juniors then got my O levels at Lyndon School in the early 1980's. (Left in 1982).
Then I went to Solihull sixth form college from 1982 to 1984. Worked in Birmingham centre from 1984- 1986 and used to get the 44 bus every day to work!!!!
Small world, we might even know each other!

We may have crossed paths... I didn't start at Lyndon until 84 in year three after moving from down south, I left in 87 and went onto Garrett's Green Technical College. I lived on the Warwick Road in Acocks Green!

It's up to you Josh, I'll be doing quite a few stops though... my mom has a weak bladder and it's the first long run for the Moggy in over thirty years.

So am I and although I've enjoyed 20+ years of Minor Ownership I've never been to a National before, not properly - I did show up at the 50th at Gaydon for a few hours, but have never camped and partied before.... So what's the drill?????

We'll be there Friday night to Monday
Although we wont be arriving until VERY late Friday night (about 12ish) - I agreed to take some school leavers to their prom and didn't realise it was the Friday I intended to drive to the national

, so it wont be the leisurely drive I planned on.
So anyone who wants the fun of trying to put a tent up in the dark is more than welcome to give us a hand

.

i think you can turn up and camp ,theres more space this year.i am all orgonised this year lou.i have been camping a few times now and i know how my tent goes together now ,it was funny last year i did not have a clue, and it gave people something to laugh at.after 5 minutes of struggling some kind people from norfolk and charlie and kevin from my branch had the tent up in no time.
it was really kind of them to help me.i have spent today loading up myrtle and have given her a wash.i changed oil last week and greased everything up .i spent last week in norfolk, and had ignition problems, this has been solved by new king lead dizzy cap and changing the connections on the coil.the ones on the coil did not match they were smaller then the ones on my car,so they were jiggling loose.thease have been changed for larger ones off a old coil i had the car did not miss a beat on the way home from norfolk on friday 120 miles .
you really live and learn with thease cars roll on friday afternoon, ill probally get there 7ish so i hope the web site kettle will be on .

Well I'm planning to head off Friday morning and take it really slow - stopping for tea and a doze several times. I think I've decided to avoid the M1 - it's an easier drive on the motorway but difficult if you break down.
At the moment it looks like Northampton, Melton Mowbray (Pies !), Doncaster, Pontefract (Cake!) and then Harewood in time for Tea
I'm camping Friday and Sat - with a new tent that was too big for my small garden - so hopefully will be dry (and light) when I finally put it up.

I'll make sure it's boiling Dale. Is it a tea with no sugar?

I've been practising towing my new trailer today so extra tea and cake supplies this year![frame]
