what side of the coil will the white wire go on + or -
freshly painted 1275cc anda very loud big bore exhaust

NO! +ve if the car is -ve earth!!

OK - It should go to the low tension side of the coil ie the terminal NOT connected to the points.... :lol:

well i wired it up and the car still starts and it has power but dosnt move so i think the last owner blew it so im gona try get it refurbed
