i have tracked a set down fitted to robins manifold was a good set up when it was used on the twin cam
it was used on , do not think the guy is going to put a fiat back in so the SUs might be up for grabs

On a 2 litre with a DGV, according to Guy Croft, the jets are:
> main jets 140 both
> air correctors primary barrel (opens first) 175 secondary 170
Don't know if that helps; whether you could use thosejets in that carb to same effect.
I'm not sure if the DGV was originally fitted to the Fiat/'Lancias but it fits and is widely available from Pintos in Cortinas, Capris and the like. Actually I think a slightly bigger carb from a V6 Capri would also fit and give a bit of power. Not personal experience, something I read somewhere.

The 32ADF was fitted to the 1600 & 1800 engines, so it won't work satisfactorally on the 2 litre, unless the jets are changed. The 34 ADF was the standard fitment on the 2 litre FIAT engine (Lancias used a different carb), so chances are the 34ADF will be a plug'n'play solution.I can't think of another car that used it, so it's likely to be suitably jetted.
EDIT:- The 32/36 DGAV ( as fitted to early 2 litre pintos) has been shown to give an improvement and as far as I'm aware bolts to the standard manifold. Guy Croft can give you the jetting requirements.

have fitted the carb and it seems to be ticking over a lot better
haven't had it out for a run yet but will do later tonight ...
found a manifold to fit the fiat and allow a pair of 40s or 45s Webber's to fit but it is a long time since i seen
45 Webber's fitted in a morris , think the back one fouls on the suspension
i know a guy that has a set of 45s might do a deal .......what kind of ££££ is in a good set (all most new )
think it has all the linkage as well ..
any more info will be good ...

BUT.......
do you all think 45 will fit ......and are they worth the bother....
had the truck out at a cruise night and it got mobbed all night
then had it a wee blast along the bypass to see if the carb was working
all i will say is YES it is working all good ......
ticking over at 700 revs .
so the 34 is better ..

I've got a nice set of 1 3/4 SU's, and a pair of 40 dellortos (off an Alfa), so I may be on the lookout for an inlet manifold.

Hi,
I wouldn't bother with twin 45s on a Fiat Twin Cam unless the engine is already tuned to probably over 150 BHP. Twin 40's will do up to that stage and quite frankly with twin 45's on much less than that you'll only be wasting petrol for practically no improvement. Without tuning the rest of the engine - cams, gasflowing and exhaust, sticking big carbs on doesn't do a great deal.
The twin SU setup is probably the best approach and simpler to deal with but the twin webers do look better.
I've got twin 45's on my moggy and you can make them fit. If the engine is lower you will have to modify the back bulkhead crossmember. Though I believe if the engine is fitted higher you can just get them over the top, mine don't.

I have a pattern for the twin SU manifold that I am wanting to sell as I cant see myself ever needing another manifold.

I seem to have the same problem Wal mentioned back in May last year where the Twin 45's I have won't fit due to the bulkhead. Engine is from a 131 Mirafiori Volumetric 2L. Has anyone any pictures or advice on modifying bulkhead to suit?[frame]

Notch the crossmember about 6" so the carb clears

I'm really surprised that you need to notch the crossmember, when mine had a 2 litre 8 valve Fiat engine with first twin 40s then 45s mine didn't need any work to the bulkhead at all. The rear air filter was a bit of a sod because of the lever arm damper body but that was it. Maybe the engine needs to be raised a bit?
Edit: I have just dug out an old photo of mine and it appears the base of the carb bores were roughly in line with the top of the bulkhead crossmember, hence no need for cutting on mine. I will scan it in later and post it up here of you want?

Pictures would be really useful, Stevie had to notch his (thanks for the picture S), but maybe raising the engine a bit would be easier (less severe)

did you manage to get around this problem? my carbs are also very tight agaist the crossmember and could do with some extra room!

Bear in mind that isn't the bulkhead, it's a cross member.

Good grief! is that heater hose!
The petrol consumption could get old very fast.
That set-up has the look of two banjo bolts, ditching both of them and finding a hose connector that would fit straight into the carb would just about remove the need to halve the cross member

If you move your engine forward it should also be possible to position the engine slightly higher which will also help get an air filter in.
As Martin says getting the air filter in is the real hassle.
