A worn out clutch would slip, and I think your problem is that it would not disengage? Did you also say earlier that it would sometimes go in gear and then jump back out?

Hello Mr Kitty! This one'll turn out interesting I expect. I believe the clutch is not disengaging - suddenly; because he said he had got it out of the garage, etc. I think it was reverse he managed to get in, almost (without effectively disconnecting engine drive!) and it threw it out. Naturally. Like a baby with a marmite-ed dum..

i got it in reverse to get it out of the garage as said

, but i could get it in first to park up then went and sorted the tools out, then when i went back to the car and my dad had a push it really hard to get in gear now it worn change at all, maybe he jammed somet
and i said that when i tryed to put in reverse now it the car jumps back and stalls.
any way got new clutch waiting for me at post office

Well - just check nothing wrong with the gearbox before refitting, then assemble everything and double check it's working ok before refitting to the car!

Sounds like you might be getting there now, Tom - certainly One needs to feel the weight of the clutch springs on the pedal as it is depressed - if that wasn't there, then it definitely wasn't being operated by the foot pedal! The question is, was it adjustment or a fault. If you fit the new clutch, you can conduct a post-mortem on the old one..

ive compared old and new and there isnt much diffrence, they arnt that worn but they are a few bits marked, on the clutch plate the 4 studs have been ground down by somet and the thrust bearing is missing a large chunk looks like it was hitting the shaft. we will see if it works 2moro when i go for a proper drive
