Well she was delivered back last night and is now ready to have everything refitted.
Not sure how long this is going to take as I have a few family related weekends to do so am going to be time limited for a while.
But as soon as she is ready and MOT'd she isgong back to the body shop for final alignment of doors ect and a final polish and seal. Maybe a bit of painting if I accidently scratch her.
Maybe on soon asking for advice

should be on a series 2. if you are anywhere near dorset i can recommend a company- they did an excellent job on mine. rough wheels to shiny, smooth powdercoat in 3 days for £30 a wheel. think they do virtually any colour too.

Yes the wheels are going to be the same colour as the car.
There is a powder coating company in Baingstoke that did my friends motorbike and it looked great.
However the bodyshop have alrady painted two of the wheels and they look brilliant so at the moment I am undecided which way to go.
I think I will get the car built and then take a decision.
Hoping to get the back axle done today - time allowing

hi there, I have just gone through my records which I printed off the potteries website IE potteries.mmoc.org.uk
and from oct 1954 through to sept' 1956 it says that the colour is sandy beige with a maroon trim and maroon carpets.
if you want to verify, just go to the potteries website. I hope this helps.

The interior is Maroon and I have maroon carpets (look red to me) - just trying to sort out choke cables and switches of the right colour.
Have time for that though as I want all the running gear sorted first

Well it's been a while since I posted but due to family commitments and Auditors it's been a bit hectic.
I have finally finished the front and rear suspension and am in the process of rebuilding the steering rack, which I hope to finish today.
The wheels are back from the paint shop and will have tyres fitted this week, then I can lower the car and do the final tightening of the suspension.
Out of curiosity what do other people use as lubricant for the steering rack? as I am having problems finding 20W oil??
Anyway off to the garage before she who must be obeyed wakes up and finds me other jobs to do

20/50 oil is 20W for this purpose.
Roy will be along shortly to recommend grease instead.

Would anybody have a photo of the rear bumper mounts as they go through the boot?
I have had a new panel fitted and just want to make sure I am putting them back correctly - I have a feeling I have some holes to drill but am not sure.
All help and advice appreciated

Finally the engine is in.
All ancillaries still need to be put on and I am waiting for the exhaust but hopefully it will be running by next weekend.
Then the lights and interior to be done before the MOT

Well everything is now on hold untill I sort out the 1098 gearbox issue.
I have taken the rear casing off the 803 and 1098 box as I want to keep the gear stick in the correct place for an SII and just need to find an engineering shop to do the milling.
If anyone else has done this by just grinding out the 803 so that the 1098 bearing will fit can they let me know, as I will then use my trusty Dremel to do it
