The trouble with this website is that everyone says that that they will be there but nobody knows what other people look like!
Perhaps there's scope for badges and car stickers identifying website users? I expect its been discussed before....
In absense of such, I'll be in the well used looking Empire green Series 2 convertible, with hood down if its not snowing or raining. Probably be a line of them now I've said that!

It's just down the road from me so I have no excuse not to go really! I'll be there with Bluebell.

Anybdoy from the Oxon and Berks branch convoy starting out from the Bucks side of Oxford? I am in Aylesbury so could potentially join that convoy.
Cheers,
Paul.

We had our meeting this evening and it looks like those going are converging from different directions, but I will definitely be there and will keep an eye out for Snowdrop

I'll be there too. Look out for the Morris Cowley as per my signature, and please introduce yourselves. Honestly, I don't bite

I always like to see prewar cars at Brooklands. They look right in the surroundings of a pre war race track...

I'm really looking forward to it now. Maybe I should take an old wind up gramophone, and a few 20's hits

Don't forget your trench coat, deerstalker and hip flask Bill. And a couple of hot water bottles may be useful!

Brooklands is now off for me...Snowdrop needed jump-staring this morning for the first time since I've had her, I guess down to the fact that I haven't been in her for around 5 or 7 weeks. Went for a five mile drive thinking everything would then be OK, but she needed jump starting again after that as well. After the second attempt I went for a longer drive, but then realised I didnt have any power for the indicators, wipers etc. Then she conked out approaching a roundabout so I called a breakdown man who couldn't get her started with a battery charger, so she was taken home on a flatbed

.
Not quite sure what to do next, breakdown man suggested taking the battery out and charging it for 24 hours, my mate who helped me to jump start her suggested than an alternator and a conversion to negative earth need to be on the shopping list, any other views?
Really disappointed about tomorrow, I reckon it'll be a great way to start to start the classic season and the weather was foreact to be good as well...[frame]

sorry to hear that
well first you need to find out why it wont start even after a jump, an alternator will not cure that problem of not starting with a jump start

Thanks for that, she managed to be jump started twice when connected to another car, the third time it was the breakdown man with a hand-held charger and that didn't work.
I am hopeful that I could get her started again if I jump-started her with my mates car again, trouble i I don't know how to then get enough power going to stop her from needing jump-starting the next time and to generate enough power for wipers and indicators.
My mate also tested the battery and it was fine, reading 11.93 volts.
Cheers,
Paul.
