Just single valve springs. Double springs are used on highly tuned engines which rev very high to minimise bounce. They have no benefit on a standard engine.....

That's it - you want the weakest springs that will allow the engine to rev to where you want it. The singles on the 940 head will easily go to 6000 rpm - which is more than enough for a long stroke 1098 -especially if it doesn't have a crankshaft damper fitted.
