hi, all brakelights +others now working. it was a broken power lead to switch which was held on by a cable tie and had been chaffing on body work took him 15mins to find. new piece soldered in and sleaved cost me a £10

When I refitted a brake light switch recently I got the owner to very gently push the foot brake as I screwed the new one in to bleed any air out of the system. I don't know if this is really necessary but I didn't want to have to bleed the brakes afterwards. (I put some rag around the switch and in fact only a tea spoonful of fluid escaped.)

I'm afraid the switches do eventually pack up and the new ones don't last as long as the old ones did but hey ho never mind.
