I think Declans talking about just the clutch relay shaft that goes between the chassis leg and the gearbox, not the whole pedal linkage that fits through.

Thanks,
I won't be doing the relay shaft because it looks ok and the play in on the pedal shaft. The link bars and pivot pins to the relay shaft will be replaced because they are worn.
If I have too much play in the linkage with the pedals not rocking, I then will look at the relay shaft.
Will start when I recieve the parts and it's a little warmer.

Sorry for not getting back before, but the Surgeon needed to adjust my `bits and pieces` in hospital. Anyway, after not being able to remove the clutch and brake pedals from under the car, I removed most of the drivers side floor to see what was amiss..... OOPS !!! there was a crack in the `box` itself, so when the brake pedal was pressed, part of the box moved away from the other, and the hole through the Chasis was much distorted (to say the least). After all the WD 40 and twisting, pulling and pushing, the old expression `it came off in my hand` came to mind. Welding needed, so I cut the remaining piece of metal, which made it easier to remove the pedals. Now shout help for a friend to arrive with his MIG welder. We assembled a piece of metal and plate washer and started to reassemble the metal with the aid of a metal bar as a guide, and after a few tries got a good alignment with the new pedal assembley fitted, with lots of Copper grease. The transformation is great, everything seems to move as it should. The old clutch `axle` was a mess. Thanks to you all for your comments, and the reccomendation to buy a new pedal`set`. Old Nellie, will be happy as soon as I fit her new set of Carpets.
We will see you at the National ? Frank from St Helens.

Well done, I recieved my bearings from ESM today so I will be changing mine at the weekend. I just hope my box section isn't cracked or the pedal shaft worn.

Well I started today,,, but didn't finish.
The tunnel came apart easily and the clutch pedal nut came undone easily. However tapping it out proved slightly harder because the washer on the end was rusted on. A good hard whack soon had it free but burred the end of the thread over.
With the pedal out, the shaft looked like a cam shaft !

It was very worn where the bearings for the brake pedal and other bearings ran. So a new pedal is needed. Where can I get one?
Before stripping it down I went to the Goodwood breakfast club pre tax meeting. Took 100's of pic of my car so I thought I'd share some.

Any ideals where I can get a clutch pedal from?
Bull Motif and ESM are both out of stock.

Try G.S. Jones, they seem to have them in stock.

Can't find there phone number on the website so I've fired off an email.
I think everyone gets them from the same place because they all have the same excuse. The supplier has none and they sub the manufacture out to India.

Woo hoo
Finally after many emails and call I got one. Thanks for the link to J.S.Jones who came up trumps, although double the price of ESM
I need the car back on the road because I need the garage space for other projects.
