Coal in the boot is a great trick Alex! When I lived with my parents there was a short steep stretch to get onto the main road that was never gritted, I used to keep a couple of flag stones in the boot to give it a bit of grip on the rear wheels!
I fixed the oil pipe in the lowlight today and went for a 1/4 mile spin, crossplies are pretty scary in the snow........
We escaped with only a minor frosting!!!! so no good snaps this year. Did you have to lowlight out in the snow david? how was it with the crossplys?

Think yourself lucky you're not in the Basingstoke/Reading area. I did eventually make it home on Monday night without getting stuck anywhere but it took just over 11 (yes, eleven) hours to do the 20 miles. Some folks gave up and slept in the office apparently. I spent yesterday at home recovering as the office was closed. Goes to show that rear wheel drive isn't such a bad thing if you've got narrow tyres and are careful.
No photos though, sorry.

On Monday we saw 2 Minors on the M40. First one was a maroon traveller near J8 mid afternoon, and second was a green saloon near J6 at about 11 or 11:30.
I pulled up alongside the saloon to see if it was Alex H! I was thinking that most owners would be too scared to go out on a proper winter's day, so I was over the moon to see a few about

Stig - yeah, tell me about it! I spent 5 hours doing the 13 miles from Slough to Reading for my night-shift. Some poor sods doing the late had to stay on to cover for those of us who couldn't get in on time (or indeed at all).
Took the Volvo tho', the MZ not seeming appropriate for sheet ice with a layer of Snow.

I got stuck on my driveway today! (it's quite long and slightly sloped) I got half way up and slid back down again, eventually with the help of a couple of neighbours I managed to get up.
This was the car this morning
I've seen 2 minors out and about in Northampton so far this week, both 2-doors, trafalgar blue and almond green.

Some piccies taken on the works car park after my usual 22 mile drive on Monday.
Some of the country roads were 'interesting' but enjoyable!

Then the following day more snow!
