it only seems to be comments about Charles Ware that are challenged!
That may be your perception but it certainly isn't true.

So - it's ok to be 'negative' about tyre brands? Without stating specific factual instances of problems ?

I think it's because tyre makers don't give a monkey's wossname about the views of a bunch of eccentric amateurs, some of whom have spent longer reading vroomvroom comics than driving their cars. OTOH it's just possible that perceptions of specialist Morris suppliers and repairers might be influenced, perhaps even unfairly, by adverse comment.

Even remarks about supposedly unsafe components and repair standards may need to be taken with a pinch of salt, judging by the utter rubbish written in the thread about primary and secondary safety of Minors.

I have to say I think the moderators are doing a thankless task extremely well: LouiseM's careful, patient, well-argued and literate contributions stand out against the background of so many near-incomprehensible manglings of the language.

Thank you very much Kevin. The moderators (and webmasters) spend a lot of time and effort in keeping this board running smoothly so that all Minor owners can benefit from the wealth of information available here. You're right, it is a thankless task at times as we get plenty of criticism and rarely any praise, so your comments mean a lot :D
