Saw the ad and see what you mean about the bumpers Is the seller going to send you some more photos? I'd ask for some interior and engine bay shots and also some from the other side of the car.

I've asked him for more photos. Have to wait and see what he sends me. He'll love me if he sends them then I ask for more... oh well

Just noticed something. The car doesn't appear to have the number plate light (above the numberplate) Perhaps it's still in the box with the front overiders

Isn't the light below the number plate?

Could be my eyes but if you zoom in on the photo it doesn't look like there are any windscreen wipers on the car

All I can guess is that maybe the photos were taken just after the respray? This would also explain the lack of number plates. The mystery will hopefully be solved when the seller sends me more photos tomorrow.

Does seem to be minus the wiper arms/blades. I knew the boot looked "odd". It's missing the "Minor 1000" on the boot! Probably due to respray as you say. Just check.

Well The guy phoned earlier to say that he has taken some photos and will email them to me later. I'll check on the photos he sends ;)

The pics on his website show it without plates, wipers, front over riders etc which means it probably just came out of the spray booth. I think I can see flatting water on the tyres also. I hope this doesn't mean that the rest of the trim was just masked up and not properly removed for the respray, but I'm sure Lou will confirm that for you as it is difficult to tell from photos.

Yes, those were my initial thoughts as you can see white marks on the tyres and rear screen rubber. That front wing also looks a bit 'crinkly' around the edge It's not a great photo though so hopefully the new photos will be more helpful in showing the condition.

No photos as yet, hopefully tomorrow. He did say Thurday first of all and said he'd try to get them to me today.

I hate to sound stupid but... What exactly do you mean by flatting water?

When you wet flat a car during the paint process the water runs off just like when you wash a car except that the flatting water has paint pigmentation in it. It washes off ok but this looks like it hadn't been washed and hence my assumption that it was freshly painted.

The advert does say that it has recently been sprayed. Hence the lack of some of the 'shiny bits'

After the "flatting process" on one of our cars the poor cat was green for about a month! She kept walking under the car when we were sanding and it took that long for the dark green dust to wear out. She refused the offer of a bath

Would only cost you ~£100/150 to have new chassis legs welded on your car! Why get another - just fix what you have.

Could also do with a re-spray BM, so it really is time for Tim to find a new home.

Spoke to the seller of the car I'm thinking of buying today. He couldn't take any photos as his wife had taken the keys to the garage to work with her

He says that he would buy my car off me for £500-800 depending on the condition (he wants me to send him some photos - any other offers?). He says if he bought my car he can collect my car and also deliver his car to me, if I wish to buy it, at the same time for the price of the fuel (he estimates £80-100).

Although I trust Louise's judgement not sure if I'd want to buy a car I haven't see myself.

He is a dealer so the 500 - 800 will end up at 500!!
100 quid in fuel would get me up and down the country twice - which route is he taking to your place???
I do honestly think that buying any car - no matter who has viewed it - should only be done after you have viewed it personnally. Some cars you look at and fall for and others you don't - even if they are minters!!
Are you sure that spending around £1500 quid on another car is the right decision - If you put that much money into Tim you would transform him completely and at least you know the car and not be risking buying something with hidden horrors ;-)

Don't start talking me out of it again I'm decided this time that he HAS to go.

I want to see the car myself whatever happens. I'll post the photos he sends me tomorrow (hopefully ) and see what you all think.
