3:07 in the afternoon, and still got my name wrong... you been drinking?

Well about a month after putting the lights on, I can confirm there have been no ill-effects so far. The bases and lights have not melted, and my charging system has not exploded. The only thing to come out of this, is that my tail lights are brighter! A success, it would seem!

However, that is in winter, with cold-ish weather, but in the summer, I'm less likely to be driving in the dark, I guess... Anyhow, so far it's been successful.

Well I'm happy with them. Whether they'd work for the smaller lights, I can't be sure, due to the amount of air surrounding the bulb, but for the 1098 lights, they're fine.

I'll definitely consider them for my saloon. Not 100% sure about the Traveller though with the smaller lights, however the lenses are glass.

There are also some plastic ones available check 1st as some owners dont realise that both types are around.

those halogens will damage the plastic lenses. in the lab we spend a lot of effort on cooling tungsten halogens, that plastic wont stand a chance with night lights unless you leave a small gap between lens and body,to allow air circulation but then thats going to allow white light out.

The glass ones should be ok, but best to check, and have some spares just in case they shatter... The halogen bulbs are smaller than the normal ones, so that could also be a consideration, but best to check your own circumstances. Be sure to report back here, though!
