It all depends on what sort of driving you do. I ran my totally standard Minor saloon as an everyday driver for years, but always kept on top of the maintenance, without that they can get unreliable.
Rover P6s are still very under rated, I have had a few, even the 2000s are still more than capable of keeping up with modern traffic, the v8s of course have very nice performance and go very well when wound up. The fuel consumption is grim though! Talking of which, MGBs always seem to be a bit thirsty for their size but are another fine choice for a daily, they are just as useable as a modern car.
Anyone else like old Landrovers? They are great for running about in and are very handy vehicles. No use if you need to do motorway work but they make nice local runabouts, cheap and easy to fix too!
