Did anyone see the brand new, boxed, original dashboard clock on Fleabay last week. I was dribbling all over my keyboard and wanted to bid but it all got very silly and eventually sold for £540-00 !!!!!!
That is going to set the benchmark for any brand new clocks that may come on to the market. I'll also have to stick with my reproduction battery powered one for now.
Regards Ian

Have you got 5 Series MM cars to go with the clocks?

Being fairly new to the club and owning a series 2 I also liked the idea of a clock ,kicking myself now for deciding that a clock that turned up on E Bay in October 2011 was too dear at £70 I am in the process of making a replica as the ESM item as they no longer are made by as you say John Vine , so far I have the outside case made ,the glass, the movement as the ESM item item which is mounted to the clock face ,I have an hour hand and I am making a minute hand replica I have located a source of replica faces as the original and need to sort out a bezel to suit it should then be as good as the ESM item look wise .

Just a heads up for you guys on the Smiths Glovebox lid electric clock fitted to early Minors which seem to sell for silly money.
I have been reliably informed that all the Smiths clocks made from 1930 - 1967 use the same movement, be it from a Minor, Jaguar even a Rolls Royce so....
Find an old clock from another marque at an auto jumbie or eBay + an old speedo from an MM and you could build your own or, replace the movement in yours if it's failed.

The above cl;ock is in very good condition by the look of the photo,
however it is not originaly from an MM. Possibly a Wolseley as suggested or an Oxford.
It has a different Hands, Bezel and Clock face to the Original Morris Minor one.
But it still looks good!

But not original and not for the MM purists

Neither of those other 2 come with any 'guarantee' so it's a case of 'Buyer beware'

Correct....notice the early quarterlight......
This car is original, dry stored since the late 60s, no welding, the paint needs a general tidy up....
