The heater on my 1960 4-door was fantastic. I never got to try out it's demisting capabilities - I always resorted to the quarterlight technique

The air inlet flap was standard with the deluxe minors, but was a retrofit option for others.
Haven't checked the stat on Phyllis, but I presume it's an 82' - but I'm sure that if I investigate that I'll snap the studs or something, and get myself in a right pickle!

Something I've read suggests that it is fine to do this if you want to change it to re-circulating heater. SOmething you could open & close remotely sounds good though...
