My 1275 does have a standard carb and BMC you are correct in assuming a standard manifold. Maybe an upgrade here one day but all is now better. Fitted the cable - the gear one was much easier to work with and I actually managed to cut it without too much difficulty! With another exhaust fitted with a proper cast clamp and some small adjustments to the mixture and timing its sounds very nice
