First car was a 1963 Mini 850 WZE 879 (the wheeze box) for ₤30 in 1975. The petrol in it was worth more than the car. It was a rather deluxe version. The grille was chicken wire and the car was painted bird sh1te green with 6 inch brush. Speedo never worked but there were enough holes in the floor to see how fast you were going. Always had to park on a hill as I couldn’t afford to have the starter motor fixed. Learned to drive in it in the Dublin mountains until I got nicked by the local sheriff for having no insurance.
Next car was a 1964 mini which I also bought in 1974. The clutch went on it so I parked it on Avondale Road in Dun Laoghaire. Drove past there last year and noticed it’s now gone.
Then I had TNI ???-tinny Lizzy, a 1969 Fiat 124. First and last experience with a Fix It Again Tomorrow car.
Next was a crapped out BMW 520 that I bought in 1981 for 2000DM at the time, after moving to Düsseldorf,. You couldn’t keep it on petrol and my cousin ruined the seats with her synthetic rabbit fur coat. I parked it outside a building site while on a lunch break. On returning I was thrilled skinny to see a lorry had also parked there ruining the nearside door. After the insurance coughed up and the car was re-sprayed it was sellable and even at a profit.
Next was a BMW 2002-probably one of the best cars I ever owned-should never have sold it.
Proud as Punch, I drove it to Dublin on my holidays and parked it outside my mother’s house. The first night the mirror go nicked. The only people driving BM’s in Ireland at the time were either politicians or drug dealers. I even called into the “Cop shop” the next morning to report it and was rightfully kicked out being told I was lucky not to be left with just the mirror!
Youthful as I was at the time-or at least felt that way in 1982, I bought a 1978 Porsche 924.
Never had a hour of peace with her-the most unreliable car I ever had. Sold her in 1986 to pay for the wedding and was glad to get rid of her-the car that is!
The we drove the newly acquired wife’s Opel Kadett-what a come down but very reliable and cheap to run. We were never in a hurry so it didn’t really matter. We saved hard and then bought a Kadett Gsi. That was a rocket but the steering was so heavy and we were afraid of heart attacks (wife being a nurse), so we got rid of it and bought a Passat VR6. What a workhorse and it went like stink! When we did manage to get an old house in 1999, we used it as a site car during the refurbishment-still ongoing today. Currently we have a Merc C200 Kompressor station wagon. Nice to look at, nice to drive but no handbrake. Last time I’ll buy one of them!
And two years ago came “Leonarda”-more fun than any of the previous cars-plenty of character and always greeted with a smile! Wifey still won’t drive it though due to the RHD even though it has a handbrake.

Doh
and a Marina Suntour Camper van **
[Edited June 06 to add the latest as below]:
2001 Astra 1.7 16v diesel estate in grey/blue. Not too big or small and great on fuel. It's like a modern Traveller but with less moss, less character, smells of dog and has no individuality, but I'm liking it.

)
2. Minor 1000 2dr - I am planning to keep her for as long as I can as I can't see a reason to sell her.

Very difficult this. Over the last thirty years - ish I have owned the following second hand cars.
1964 Mini 850 BYP 344B (standard apart from internal tweaks to the engine and an interior retrimmed in deep fur! I can assure you it was very tasteful at the time)
1967 Morris Minor 2Dr KHY 789F
1970 Morris Minor 4Dr (a complete rot box)
1970 Hillman Imp
1952 MM 4Dr Saloon HWT ? Did the London/Brighton run in this from Huddersfield.
1971 Minor 2Dr Saloon.
1969 Minor 2Dr saloon (Stolen in Huddersfield and recovered in south London. Tools and baby seat taken)
1972 Hillman Avenger Estate (blew up on the M1 whilst overloaded with Minor spares)
1953 Minor Convertible 2534 H. Rebuilt by me to Master's Class status and then sold 'cause I needed the money for my young family! Doh!
1949 MM Saloon (a wreck to restore but it fell to pieces when I leant on it)
1960 Minor convertible bought in pieces and sold later in pieces.
1967 Minor 4 Dr Saloon bought to go on the MOT to Remoulins and sold on my return.
1949 MM 2Dr saloon OFC 771. Did the London/Brighton run from Sheffield.
1950 MM Tourer. Also did the London/Brighton run again from Sheffield.
1971 Minor Traveller.
Then I was able to buy new.
1983 Ford Escort 4Dr saloon A927 HHD. Involved in a nasty accident on the M62.
Then a string of company cars.
Austin Allegro (Russet Brown!) Urgh!
1987 Montego
1988 Cavalier
1989 Sierra Sapphire
1992 Sierra Sapphire
1994 Mondeo
1996 Mondeo
1997 Mondeo
Then I switched jobs and bought a new Fiesta 1.1L (bog standard)
Switched jobs again and back to company cars.
Rover 200 Saloon
2001 New Mondeo
2003 Ford Focus Estate
2004 Vauxhall Vectra
Then back to buying my own new cars
2006 Volvo S60 Sport (great fun on the motorways as everyone thought I was a plain clothed police car and let me pass).
2008 Audi A6 2.7TDI Saloon (Le Mans Limited Edition)
And just recently purchased a 1954 Minor Convertible to restore.
Its still in my blood I guess!

I started driving (legally and on the roads!) in 1990
(1990 - 1991) 1973 Land-Rover Series III. Loved it. It was a Land Rover and it was cool. Very cool!
(1990 - 1995) 1982 Triumph Acclaim - Fantastic car. Towed boats like a dream, great (Honda) engine, sills held together with sealing wax and string. Handled OK, we had some fun together, but it blew a head gasket at 100K and was never the same again.
(1996 - 2002) 1983 Ex Mil 110 Land-Rover Defender, safari roof rack, air con, 15K miles around India. Took me and family through rivers, deserts and up into the foothills of the himalayas. Sadly wasn't brilliant at transporting said family around the UK!
(N/K - 2006) 1976 MG Midget (Mrs E's car, not very useful for a family of 4!)
(2001 - present) 1998 SAAB 9-5. Still with us at 201K miles and still going (relatively!) strong. I think I'll keep it going just to see how many miles I can get on it!
(2006 - present) 1969 Morris Minor 4 door, Maggie, still with us and my daily driver at 135K miles.
(2009 - present) 1970 Morris Minor traveller, Maurice, a resto project, not on the road yet!
Not many really, a relatively small CV!
