I suspect the new plugs have helped here! You could try refitting the old ones and see if the problem returns, or you could just throw them away!

I think I'll just leave it be for now. Another thing that has been cured somehow was when I turned the engine off it used to judder and then stop but now the engine just turns off straight away. Thanks again.

One more question, not related but I don't think its worth starting another topic for. When people have an extra light (or two) on the front where is it attached? I think they look quite good but I wouldn't be bothered about having it wired up.

Just keep it standard! Don't start mucking it about - there will plenty of 'running repairs' for you to spend time and money on without pointless extras!

I suppose, I've already put some money away just incase

Guess I can't help wanting to stick extra lights on the front of things after owning an old vespa!

I agree about the
correct style driving lamps. They do make the car look a bit more complete. As a "mod" I expect you will want all the fancy bits then- headlight hoods, windscreen visor, a few extra wing mirrors.... nothing too gaudy though I'm sure!
The driving lamps fit on a bit of heavy bent strip behind the bumper- go for it!!

its good when things work out,but BETTER when you know what was the fault in the first place. Bet the carb piston was sticking making it too rich and by lifting the pin right up you have freed it off. If you get the same fault do as bm says and lift the piston inside the carb inlet by hand and make sure its free.By the way don't be tempted to polish up the piston to clean it you will ruin the carb ,if you need to clean it just use petrol and a soft cloth, they do tar up after a while and stick, but the clearence between the piston and the carb body must not to altered by polishing.good luck

When I took the air filter of I lifted the carb piston and let it drop a few times so could of helped solve something... Hope she stays running, I feel like its too good to be true especially as I 'fixed' it myself. Was good as I learnt alot about the engine though over the last few days, can't beat practical learning.
I got a lovely blanket for the back seats and they had exactly the same one on Heartbeat last sunday

Highland Tweeds.
I'll have a look about getting a lamp. On my scooter they used to just clamp on to a front rack. Would they just clamp on to a Moggie?

The spotlight should fit on an L shaped backet which clamps aroud the bumper bar. See the photo below. I will try to take a couple of photos of the bracket later.
I have my fog lights wired through the dip switch so they go out when the lights are dipped. Modern halogen headlight beam patterns are so good that fog lights aren't needed in fog. Mine just add extra light down country lanes.

Good pics! Just make sure the bolts aren't too long - so they rub on the front panel!

Flat bar with holes drilled! That one is adjustable - but if you measure up carefully then holes in the right places will do the trick. You can also just bolt directly to the bumper bar - rather than clamp around it as that one does. My Rally Minor light brackets were simply bolted to a bare spare bar - which was fitted for Rallies, and replaced with a complete bumper assembly for non event road use. It's only two nuts. I didn't want my lights smashed or stolen! And 44 years later - I still have the lights!------------------------------------------------------- VVV------------------------- Which in that picture have been turned round after the night section has finished, to protect them from stones.
