Just thought, when you fit a different speedo do you have too let dvla or anybody know the different milage?

Only if you have a limited mileage policy on your insurance

Just make a note of the old and new mileages, but no need to tell DVLA. It will be reported at the next MOT, although in fact there is no requirement to have either speedo or mileometer to pass the MOT!

I had speedo problems with mine reading 20 mph for a few minutes after I had stopped moving and also reading very low so I used the information in this PDF and it now works perfectly.
