On reflection I'm sure that removing the rotor arm would ...........
Very difficult to re-assemble in the dark as I found out a few hours ago.
Hi Chris - just re read your post.. It can be done in the dark quite easily (unless you drop the darn thing under the car!), but my problem was doing it in a rush - it's always a risk to do anything on the car in a rush.
At least I lived to tell the tale. I'll have the dizzy cap off at the weekend to see if it got machined away whilst it wasn't properly fixed on.

Not a bad idea that, Vulcan. Sort of a krooklock that works

vulcan72,
I could tell you how they override those ones - but you may not want to know.

A big hammer, a screwdriver onto the packlock or boltrcoppers
easy
although there is a MUCH MUCH MUCH more discreet and quick way but I'm not going into that here

surely if your car theif was equiped with A BIG HAMMER A SCREWDRIVER AND BOLT CUTTERS he would take my merc or my wifes freelander.
i thought the idea was to have a quick and cheap antitheft device i didn't realise we were dealing with the mafia, in that case the only sure way is to employ a security guard to travel in the back of the car at all times he must be trained in martial arts carry an oozie 9mm and be prepared to die for the cause.
it should also bring your insurance premiums down.

many car thieves carry a hammer and screwdriver, but yes I think Dan may also know the smarter way to bypass the handbrake lock.

Dan nicking all the mogs
lol. Not many mog users wate their time with the retail version of handbrake lock. They seem about as effective as a krooklock

(seconds and its gone...)
I'm not nicking them all either.. though if you looked in my back garden you'd be suspicious!! lol

just had a thought (doesn't happen that often) what if i were a car thief targeting morris minors should i take the usual hammer and screwdriver (and if stopped get done for going equiped) or pop down to halfords and carry arround a rotor arm just in case.
its a thought isn't it

Another security option could be something similar to vulans suggestion a tube, with the end welded solid, the other end slides over the handbrake and you can drill a hole through the pipe and the handbrake (:-?) and stick a big padlock through it. I might be wrong, i can't see the car and i am slightly drunk at the moment.......

Matt thats what i tried to say, you explained it better though. i'll try drinking heavily next time i post, and it might make more sense
it still doesn't get arround the bolt cutter theory, or Dan

You obviously didn't spend it on a personal organiser
