I bought a complete A-Series from a guy in Stockport for £60 .... no he doesnt have any more where that came from :( ... but there are some great deals out there!

A new-to-you engine is highly likely to be cheaper than a regrind, although beware of engines which are too cheap (eg £20), as they might well have all the same problems as your current lump.

If you don't mind scrapping a car, then there are some very cheap (badly rotted) cars around that drive well
Thi is sometimes the cheapest way to get hold of a good engine (and gearbox). Be a bit carefull with that as if you can't road test it for a good 10 miles, then it's hard to tell if the engine is really sweet.

I dont but i think my parents might not want another car in there front garden! There not to keen on the second one lol.

Ill keep my eyes open. Though i cant travel that far to collect so its a bit of a problem! as all the adds ive seen so far are too far away.

Its not that desperate so it'll have to wait till i get the other car back on its wheels.

Thanks for the help.

EDD...you could look at 'parts for sale' on this board, headed
'breaking' posted by captchaos. He is breaking a 1971 Minor
and lives near Colchester which cannot be far from you??
I am going there for the diff unit on Friday.
