think Iv'e been here before but a short version. OK to a prearranged test and home again either after a pass OR fail unless they state car is in a dangerous condition. Then needs to be trailored or left there for repair(Good way for a garage to con you into repair) Or to and from place where the repairs are to be carried out. Def not back to the garage for a consultation about the failed items from a previous test. Unless you book it in for a retest and use that as a means of consultation (Probably borderline deception)

I can never see the big 'risk' from the top of the steering wheel having some slight sideways movement due to the flet bush having sagged over the years. Why is this a 'fail' - what can possibly go wrong ?! Has anyone tried a different material ? Can the bush be 'winkled 'out once the wheel has been removed - it's years since I dealt with this ! The Mini uses a plastic bush at the top - no idea if it could be fitted

and a felt bush at the lower end - although the suggestion here is that the lower bush may also be plastic on some models .
