BMC - the fit's lousy and the last one fractured at the other end too, I just see it continuing to give grief. And getting someone to weld Stainless around here, well, it's hastle. Also, you have to remember this is my every-day-car. I commute to work in her every day, so ideally need her back on the road ASAP.

Of course, sometimes a third option you'd not considered pops up, and I'm currently debating that which might mean I can actually spend some time researching the options. So, any reviews of the BMMC, Bull Motif, ESM exhausts and the longevity of the Maniflow one would be handy.

It's almost certainly not very 'good' stainless - so just weld it as mild steel and use mild steel gussets ! Not ideal - but as you say - you NEED that car going!

AGREED!! If your prime problem is getting wheels turning again, then wodge up what you have so as to give you breathing space, otherwise you may be rushed into an expensive decision that you later regret

Hi all, I have the complete Maniflow system.I would say you need to match it with the LCB as the angle where these join is fairly critical. With an LCB you do need a separate inlet manifold but you may be able to separate the original siamesed manifold.

Pyoor_Kate wrote: So I can order it, does anyone know if the Maniflow LCB exhaust fits the ital manifold? Or does it come as a manifold that connects to the head ('cos my manifold is a single piece inlet and exhaust jobbie). It only lists the one option...
If I remember correctly the maniflow system only fits the maniflow manifold for which its designed for, the Ital manifold is not the same as their manifold although it might be made to fit but it is expensive to play with, could be worth a call to see if they can do something for you.

Clearly none of you live in Slough. The answers ranged from "we don't do that anymore", "we don't weld anymore" and "we can't do that anymore" through to "oh no, that's a one piece exhaust and can't be repaired"* and my favourite of the day "You can't weld stainless steel".

That last one came from the place everyone else said was the only place that could do it.

They did, however, give me a section of straight, roughly 1.5" pipe, so tomorrow afternoon I'll try and slap it back together. Shan't be great, but it'll at least keep me mobile.

Incidentally, has anyone got a shot of the back of the car (and the side, if you can) of JLH's 1.75" exhaust? It seems a bit 'over the top'** but I really would rather have a for-life exhaust and I don't want one made by the same company who made the one that's on at the moment. But equally, would like to see what a 1.75" exhaust *looks like* on a minor :)

* I did try and argue the point, on the basis that I fitted it, and it ain't one piece, also on the basis that they can just lop out the front silencer for all I care, but they wouldn't have it.
** 's only a 1300 with a fast-road-cam. Not really mind blowing power, iykwim.
